Bodoland area in lower Assam witnessed fresh trouble with the killing of four persons by armed assailants in Jiaguri even as police arrested a member of Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District in connection with the killing. The assailants fired randomly on a group of persons at Jiaguri in Kokrajhar police station in which four persons were killend last night, Inspector General of police(BTAD) S N Singh said today.

5 officers killed as IAF copters collide in air:

  

At 12 noon ,2 MI-17 helicopters  loaded with bombs and rockets take off for live firing exercise at Sarmat field range near the Jamnagar airbase in Gujarat.
 At 12:05, the upper rotors of copters collide,which had taken off loaded with bombs and rockets at noon, got close enough to collide and crash immediately. 

 

7.6 magnitude EARTHQUAKE STRIKES PHILIPPINES:

A 7.6 magnitude of an earthquake struck off the eastern coast of philippines, causing tsunami warning across the region(palau and indonesia).The quake had a depth off 33 km and it struck at 20:47, the geological survey said.

 Warnings were also issued for the Japan, Taiwan,Papua new Guinea,Guam,The Northern Mariana islands and Yap but it was later lifted leaving warning only for Philippines,Indonesia and Palau.

Apple v/s Samsung

Apple wants EIGHT samsung devices to be ban in the United States, post its major legal victory against the South Korean company in a high profile patent case.

Since a US jury found that Samsung had violated patents used in the iphone, and ordered the South Korean company to pay $1.05 billion in damages at hte end of the last week.Apple has wasted no time in stipulating  which products it wants banning from US shops.

EX-MIN  Kodnani gets 28 yrs in jail for Naroda massacre

Three term Naroda MLA Maya Kodnani  gets 28 years in jail-10 years voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons and 18 years life imprisonment . Maya kodnani  is the first woman and MLA to be convicted in post- Godhra riot case.

Kodnani convicted for criminal conspiracy as well, disproving Modi's claim that the riots were spontaneous and the ruling BJP had nothing to do with it.
